Yesterday’s Power Outage

Hopefully everyone has power and survived yesterday’s storm with minimal

The storm that came through was a microburst in which cold air and rain
suddenly drop downward from a thunderstorm above. Winds were recorded by
JCP&L as high as 76 mph.

There are still people without power and the utility has brought in people
from all over the state to assist.

In the future, if you lose power you are strongly encouraged to call
888-544-4877 and report this. Then when power is restored you will receive
an alert.

Please let me know of any concerns, questions, etc.

Power Outage Due to Pole Fire

The current power outage is due to a “pole fire” near the intersection of Bergen and Ocean at the north end of town.  The existing pole will have to be replaced, and this could take some time.  Per the JCP&L website, restoration is estimated to take place around 9:30PM.  You can receive updates via the JCP&L website.
