Mantoloking & Hurricane Sandy

Believe it or not, Mantoloking has a new stop light.  The State DOT installed a new stop light on Herbert and 35.  35 also has shoulders and repaving has started.  The State and IEW really want to get 35 done in time for our tree lighting ceremony on the 16th.

We also had a good meeting with the Army Corp and State DEP.  Starting on the 17th, the Army Corps will be dredging the bay at Lyman Street and pumping that sand back on the beach.  Our engineers devised a way to snake the dredging pipes under B Barnegat lane and the new 35 without causing much disruption.

A lot of people have been asking us if the Borough is recommending a place to make donations this holiday season.   If you are so inclined, you may find it in your heart to make a donation to the Mantoloking Fire Department and/or the Mantoloking Police Association.  Checks can made out to either and dropped off or mailed to the “new” Borough Hall on Drum Point Road.  Another great cause is Mary Pat Christie’s Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund=

We are working on details for the tree lighting ceremony on the 16th and also a comprehensive reconstruction checklist.  We hope to get these out to you shortly.
