Beach Replenishment Update

At the weekly pre-construction meeting with DEP, ACE and Weeks Marine (the contractor) we were told that the replenishment project had just had the most successful week it has had since the project began early last fall. Again, for those who like to see specific numbers, the total beach fill volume to date is 912,771 cubic yards with total gross removed from the borrow site being 1,110,540 CY. This equates to just over 80% of the sand removed actually being placed on the beach. By the end of the week, the replenishment will be completed at the Brick border and Weeks will then flip and start filling north from Herbert up to 1071 Ocean. I have attached a couple of photos to show the progress so far. – Councilman White
