Mantoloking & Hurricane Sandy
NOVEMBER 16, 2012: 6:15pm
It was a bit chaotic, but the contractor system worked. Tomorrow, we will do SECTION 2. Contractors can enter from 8 am under the rules outlined in the last posting and residents (if they are not riding with their contractor) can enter via shuttle starting at 9am.
Due to emergency gas and water line installation, we will need to postpone any entry on Sunday the 18th. THERE WILL BE NO ENTRY ON SUNDAY OR MONDAY.
We hope to implement town-wide contractor access starting on Tuesday, November 20th. We will announce the logistics over the weekend so please check the website for updates.
One bit of good news, JCP&L and NJ Natural Gas are hoping to have electricity and gas up to a number of areas in the Borough by end of December. This is their target– no promises.
Finally, if you are going to remove debris from your property, please put it at the end of your driveway, off the road and sidewalk and out of the way. Please do not arrange for private dumpsters to be delivered- they will be sent back.
We are sorry for the schedule change, but the situation on the ground remains extremely fluid and we are doing our best to accommodate all interests.
Reconstruction fact: to date, over 250,000 cubic yards of screened sand has been moved to areas affected by the storm.
