Rt. 35 Construction Updates

Here you will find the latest updates regarding the reconstruction of Route 35 in Mantoloking.

The state has provided a number of resources for residents to use to find answers to questions or concerns regarding the Route 35 reconstruction project.

A project specific website has been set up: http://www.state.nj.us/transportation/commuter/roads/rt35reconstruction/.  The site will provide important updates on the progress of the project.

A 24/7 hotline has been set-up: 1-732-230-7356 for public to provide any input on issues faced during construction.

The intersection of Barnegat Lane and Lyman Street will be closed until further notice. Access to Barnegat Lane will be from Bergen Ave. from the North, and Herbert from the South. Downer Ave. is closed at Rt. 35 and there is one-way traffic direction from Downer Ave. to Brick border along Rt. 35.

Route 35 Reconstruction Update #6 – Traffic Advisory – Posted 1/29/14

As of 1/29/14, Princeton Avenue is closed to traffic due to highway construction.  Downer Avenue is now open to traffic.  Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.

Route 35 Reconstruction Update #7 – Traffic Advisory – Posted 2/6/14

Downer Avenue will be closed on Friday, 2/7/14, EAST of the Firehouse in preparation for paving.  There will be no access from Route 35.

On Saturday, 2/8/14, Downer Avenue will be closed WEST of the Firehouse in preparation for paving.

Route 35 Reconstruction Update #9 – Construction Resumes – Posted 8/27/14

Work restarts on Sept. 3rd. Alternating traffic patterns will be in effect from Lyman Street going South to Herbert. Agate will be working 24 hour shifts for approx. 2 weeks from Lyman South. Agate has advised that only two days will they be hammering up the roadway and will not go past 11pm with hammering. Work zones from Downer South to Brick will be two way traffic on the West side of road.
