The Mantoloking Police
Dept. was established in 1911. At that time, we had one police
officer, who was Chief J. Harrison “Hat” Herbert.
He was designated as Badge # 1. Since that time, we have grown
to 7 full-time officers including the Chief's position.
We are a 24-hour Police Dept. that is ready
to provide the same services that any larger police dept. can.
We patrol a 2.2-mile stretch of Route 35 in Ocean County, NJ,
and our widest point is less than a half mile. The Atlantic Ocean
and the Barnegat Bay surround us. We have a boat patrol that
patrols the Barnegat Bay between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
We also offer a “We Care Program” that allows residents
to give us contact, medical, and key information for their home
that is used to help us help you. For more information, click
on the link to the left or contact Lt. Barcus at Barcus@mantoloking.org
If you walk into headquarters and there is no one at the front
desk, Please use the pay phone in the lobby and call (732) 892-0832.
