The Mantoloking Police Department employs seasonal Special Law Enforcement Officers I & II.  Interested candidates can download the application and return the completed document to Police Headquarters located on the first floor at 202 Downer Ave. Mantoloking NJ 08738. Please make sure your completed package includes a resume and letter of interest.  **Certified SLEO I & II officers are welcome to apply**

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Interested Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Citizen of the United States
• Possess a valid Driver’s License
• Read Write and speak the English language well and intelligently
• Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent
• Good Moral Character, sound body and good health
• Not convicted of any offense involving dishonesty or which would make the person unfit to perform the duties of the job

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Applicants will be required to successfully pass the following:

• Resume and Application Information sheet Review
• Physical Agility Test (Applicants failing to attain a passing score will removed from the process)
• Oral Interview
• Psychological Examination
• Background Investigation
• Medical Screening
• Urinalysis Screening

GOALS & OBJECTIVES: 

The goal of the Mantoloking Police Department Recruitment Plan is to attract qualified persons to pursue a career with the Mantoloking Police Department.  The objective is to achieve an overall racial and gender composition of sworn law enforcement personnel which compares to the overall racial and gender composition of the population of the Borough of Mantoloking.  This agency will make a good faith effort to meet specific goals for recruiting a diverse workforce, in terms of people of color and gender diversity. The goals and objectives shall be accomplished through the various recruitment activities specified herein.

GENERAL:

The Mantoloking Police Department shall be subject to all applicable provisions of the New Jersey Statutes Annotated (NJSA) 40A:14-118, et seq. and the municipal ordinances of the Borough of Mantoloking in all facets of the recruitment and the selection process.  The Chief of Police shall be responsible for the Recruitment Plan.
