From the Mayor: Re: Coronavirus

Hello Everyone,

As you know President Trump declared a Declaration of Emergency last Friday afternoon. Along those lines, you will see a linked document below describing changes in Mantoloking that will be effective immediately, and a link to the borough hall phone list. This document includes changes to the Borough Hall hours of operation, paying tax and sewer bills and other similar issues.

It is becoming evident that many residents are moving to their homes in Mantoloking for whatever period of time it may be. In many cases college students are here as well with their parents. It needs to be noted that even though younger people have a significantly reduced rate of serious reaction to the COVID-19 virus these people also qualify as CARRIERS. We do not want to submit our older residents to increased risk through contamination. The numbers say it all- proper “social-distancing” is effective in containing this disease. It will be difficult but we all need to stay at home unless trips for supplies or medical situations make it mandatory to travel. The contact number for the Center for Disease Control is 1-800-222-1222.

Be advised that the situation is extremely fluid and can change at any time. Also, please feel free to call me with thoughts or questions.

     Take care and be well.
