The Mantoloking Police Dept. was established in 1911. At that time, we had one police officer, who was Chief J. Harrison “Hat” Herbert. He was designated as Badge # 1. Since that time, we have grown to 7 full-time officers including the Chief’s position.

We are a 24-hour Police Dept. that is ready to provide the same services that any larger police dept. can. We patrol a 2.2-mile stretch of Route 35 in Ocean County, NJ, and our widest point is less than a half mile. The Atlantic Ocean and the Barnegat Bay surround us. We have a boat patrol that patrols the Barnegat Bay between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

We also offer a “We Care” system that allows residents to give us contact, medical, and key information for their home that is used to help us help you. In addition we also have a Emergency Notification System that allows us to notify residents of an emergency or other significant event.    Please note that if you do not own a home in the Borough of Mantoloking, your registration will not be validated, and you will not receive phone calls or email updates. Please use the links below to register with either or both of these systems
