Hello Everyone,

First and foremost I want to wish everyone a wonderful Memorial Weekend. This is the unofficial kickoff to the summer with lots of festivities. Importantly, it is also the day when we remember and appreciate all of the men and women who have given their lives in service to allow our country to be the wonderful nation that it is today. We can never take our freedoms lightly.

This is certainly one of the busiest weekends of the entire summer. The Mantoloking Bridge is bumper to bumper and Rt 35 south is the same. I know it’s not always easy but try to be patient as you travel to your destination. Some of our streets (ie. Barnegat Lane and East Avenue) will have walkers and bicyclists 3 and 4 abreast. We do try to discourage this but it happens so we all need to work together. Also, please remember there are those who will try to cross Rt 35 going to and from the beach outside of  the pedestrian walkways. Things can become a little chaotic out there so just be cautious.

The preseason badges will be sold throughout the weekend until 3:00 on Monday afternoon at $110.  They will go back on sale on June 15 at a price of $120. I am pleased to tell you that while it is very difficult to hire people these days as badge checkers , lifeguards, etc we will have a full crew working the beaches this summer.
